No Longer Hidden Exhibit

Black and Women’s History at the

North Shore Historical Museum

Exhibit Open Through June 10

The North Shore Historical Museum proudly presents its combined 2026 Black History and Women’s History Months exhibit, a celebration of the achievements, creativity, and enduring impact of Black leaders, innovators, and community builders. This season’s installation highlights stories of resilience and brilliance—from national trailblazers who shaped American history to local figures whose contributions strengthened the North Shore.

Through photographs, artifacts, oral histories, and newly curated interpretive panels, visitors will encounter narratives of leadership in the arts, sciences, civic life, and social justice. The exhibit invites audiences of all ages to reflect on the many ways Black Americans have expanded opportunity, advanced democracy, and enriched the cultural fabric of our region.

This special exhibition is part of NSHM’s ongoing commitment to inclusive storytelling and community-centered history. We welcome visitors to explore, learn, and honor the legacies that continue to inspire progress today.
