Sea Cliff Poets

All are welcome to join the Sea Cliff Poets monthly meetings to read and hear poetry.  Bring a poem you wrote, or one you admire. Beginner or experienced or wannabe, this is about enjoying poetry within a relaxed and convivial group.

PROMPT: WRITE A LETTER POEM of 1 page or less.

If you are unfamiliar with the letter-poem form, you might want to see “Dear Memory: Letters on Writing, Silence, and Grief” by Victoria Chang (2021), an award-winning collection of letter poems “on the art of remembering across generations”.

You could write a letter poem to your younger self, a deceased person, a favorite teacher, your favorite number, or an object in nature. You can find other models online.

Please bring 15 copies of your poem to share with your fellow poets.

We sit in a circle and read our poems to each other without judgment, for the enjoyment of language and what it can convey.  If you would like to join the mailing list, please email Victoria@vbbllc.com.

Everyone’s voice is different and unique, and we’d love to hear yours.

No charge to be part, we just ask that you support the Sea Cliff Arts Council by becoming a member at any level that suits you.
