Unveiling: Monument to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

Join the community for a profound and historic afternoon at the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County for the official unveiling of Natan Rapoport’s Monument to the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. As the third piece in a powerful series of sculptures commemorating the 1943 uprising, this extraordinary work by the late Warsaw-born Holocaust survivor and artist has found its forever home on the HMTC grounds. The date specifically commemorates the beginning of the 1943 uprising, and the momentous installation places HMTC in a unique global category alongside Yad Vashem in Jerusalem and Zamenhof Square in Warsaw. The unveiling also marks the opening of a new temporary exhibition highlighting Rapoport’s art and the heroes of the uprising. Light refreshments will be provided.
